2. What Data We Collect

When you submit a site, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Information about the submitted site (name, URL, description, category)

We also collect anonymous usage data through Google Analytics (see section 6). We also track anonymous click data when users visit listed websites, using a one-way hash of IP addresses. No personally identifiable information is stored with click records.

3. Purpose of Processing

Your name and email are collected exclusively to manage and review site submissions on Data Tools Arena. We will never use your data for marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond submission management. This is a community project and your details will not be shared with any third parties.

4. Legal Basis

Processing is based on your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by ticking the consent checkbox in the submission form. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at andrew@dataguideline.com.

5. Data Retention

Your personal data is retained for as long as your submission remains in our database, or until you request its deletion. To request deletion or correction of your data, contact us at andrew@dataguideline.com.

6. Analytics Cookies

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous data about how visitors use this site (pages visited, time spent, general location by country). Google Analytics uses cookies stored in your browser. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google.

You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Objection — object to processing of your data
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing

8. Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country. In Poland, this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO): uodo.gov.pl.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top.
